Have questions about building a chemically safe
and/or tiny home of your own?

In addition to having been a stone mason in the '90's (when my back was stronger! :-), I have spent the last
several years researching building materials that are safe for the chemically sensitive, and designing and
building my own houses on wheels.  I learned at lot--both about how to do things, and how not to do things!  Many of the techniques and materials I used are detailed on this website and my other website, www.otterishly.com.  However, if you don't see the information you need here, or want help with personalized materials selection or custom design...

1 hour: $50

1/2 hour: $30

10 minutes: $15

I realize (boy, do I ever) that MCS can be a very financially draining illness.

In an effort to keep things more affordable, I've made very short sessions available in case you just have one or two questions.  However, if you feel the above fees will present a significant obstacle to your obtaining safe housing, please do not hesitate ask about sliding scale (which goes all the way down to zero where the need for that exists--I've been there).

Testimonials:

Leslie, I am so glad I finally consulted with you!  In my effort to build an environmentally safe tiny house
for myself, I spoke with architects, builders, and even building biologists, but it turned out that you have
more knowlege and practical experience than many of those so-called experts.  Only someone who has
lived the process of building an environmentally safe home to accommodate her own chemical sensitivity
can really know what is possible and how to do it.

Leslie has an amazing store of detailed information in her head about every aspect of

building a chemically safe, tiny home, from materials to designing livable space, and

she's always researching and learning more.  But the best part is how skillful she is at

helping to sort out options based on her client's needs and preferences.  I wouldn't

begin to know how to make sense of it alone.  The combination of expert information

and creative, flexible problem solving makes her invaluable to anyone embarking on

this kind of project.  I'd strongly recommend a consult with Leslie as the first step.
